IRIS4000 Dual-FXO Telephony Board

Limited assembled inventory is available. If IRIS4000 fits an existing analog-line or PBX integration requirement, contact sales@zmatrix.pk for current quantity, package contents and shipping information.

IRIS4000 is production-grade telephony hardware providing two FXO interfaces for Orange Pi Zero. It was designed for compact PSTN-to-IP appliances and is paired with ZMATRIX firmware based on the SK400VOP embedded SIP stack.

The platform can be used to connect conventional analog telephone lines to SIP systems without requiring a large rack-mount gateway. Typical projects include compact PBX appliances, PSTN-to-SIP bridges, IVR endpoints and custom legacy-telephony integration.

Hardware features

  • Two FXO interfaces
  • 600-ohm and CTR21 termination options
  • Caller-ID support for DTMF, Bell and ETSI signaling modes
  • Board connectors designed for Orange Pi Zero integration
  • On-board voice/audio interface used by the supplied firmware
  • Compact physical format: approximately 4 × 2.6 × 1 inches (L × W × H)
  • Wi-Fi capability available through the Orange Pi Zero host platform

Firmware and SIP integration

ZMATRIX provides firmware built around SK400VOP for controlling the FXO interfaces and bridging calls to SIP. The supplied integration model can connect to Asterisk/FreePBX as a PJSIP trunk, allowing inbound PSTN calls to terminate on extensions, ring groups, IVRs or other PBX destinations while outbound calls are routed to analog lines.

The existing documentation covers FXO configuration, caller-ID timing, audio-device setup and Asterisk/FreePBX trunk configuration. Although the guide references older Asterisk/FreePBX versions used for the original integration, it remains useful documentation of the board and firmware architecture.

Where IRIS4000 fits

PSTN-to-SIP bridge

Use one or two conventional analog lines as trunks into a SIP-based system for lab, migration, remote-site or specialized integration scenarios.

Compact PBX appliance

Combine Orange Pi Zero, IRIS4000 and a SIP/PBX software environment to create a small voice appliance with analog line access.

IVR and automation

Route incoming analog calls into application logic, an IVR or a SIP destination while retaining control over caller-ID handling and call routing.

Legacy-system integration

IRIS4000 can provide a hardware starting point when an existing analog service must be integrated with an IP communications environment. See legacy PSTN-to-SIP integration.

Availability and lifecycle

IRIS4000 was produced and sold as a commercial hardware product. ZMATRIX still has a limited quantity of assembled units and intends to sell those units to customers with a suitable deployment or integration requirement.

The remaining inventory is best suited to:

  • existing SIP/PBX environments that need one or two analog FXO interfaces;
  • labs, test systems and migration projects involving real PSTN lines;
  • compact IVR, gateway or remote-site applications where the existing Orange Pi Zero platform is acceptable;
  • engineering teams evaluating an embedded FXO-to-SIP architecture before developing a newer design.

IRIS4000 is not being represented as the platform for a new high-volume production program. For larger or long-lifecycle designs, ZMATRIX can discuss customization, migration to a newer compute platform, or use of the existing design as the basis for a purpose-built gateway.

Design and firmware licensing

Depending on project requirements, ZMATRIX can discuss licensing of the hardware design package and VoIP firmware, including customization work. Contact sales for the exact scope and current commercial terms rather than assuming a one-size-fits-all license.

Documentation

The IRIS4000 getting-started guide covers board bring-up, firmware configuration and an Asterisk/FreePBX integration example.

Buyer FAQ

Is IRIS4000 still available to purchase?

Yes, while the remaining assembled inventory lasts. Contact sales for the current quantity and shipment options.

Is the Orange Pi Zero included?

Current package contents can depend on the remaining inventory. Confirm whether the offered unit includes the Orange Pi Zero and any accessories before ordering.

Can IRIS4000 work with Asterisk or FreePBX?

The supplied firmware was integrated with Asterisk/FreePBX as a PJSIP trunk. The published guide documents the original integration using Asterisk/FreePBX 13. Newer PBX versions should be validated for configuration differences rather than assuming the screenshots and menus are identical.

Will caller ID and call-progress tones work in my country?

The firmware exposes regional FXO configuration, including caller-ID mode and timing. Analog-line behavior varies by carrier and country, so deployment-specific tuning and validation may be required.

Can we license or customize the design instead of buying remaining units?

Potentially. ZMATRIX can discuss hardware-design/firmware licensing and migration to a newer embedded platform when that is a better fit than the remaining stock.
